I am 63 years old and have been married to my wife Linda for 30 years. I have 4 children and 3 grandchildren. I am a retired educator of 33 years. I am now able to spend more time in the outdoors fishing and bow hunting.

My name is Kim Potts and I have been involved in promoting outdoor education programs across the state of Texas since 2009. My dad introduced me to the outdoors at a very young age and I did not realize until I got older, what a wonderful blessing and gift he had given me. When I feel myself getting overwhelmed with work, family, or just life in general, a good hog hunt, fishing trip, or visit to my deer stand can quickly provide the opportunity for my body, mind, and soul to realign. Life IS better outdoors!

Donny is a 33 year veteran of Texas Public Schools. He has been in the roles of teacher, coach and secondary principal. Donny is an avid hunter and outdoorsman as well. Currently, Donny is an Archery Instructor for Outdoor Texas Camps.

I have been in education for 38 years teaching PE, Outdoor Adventures and Adapted PE. Named Outdoor Adventures Teacher of the Year in 2010. I assisted with the first edition of the Outdoor Adventures curriculum and continue to be involved in making it the BEST outdoor education curriculum in the nation! I love fishing, gardening, target shooting, enjoying the beauty of nature and playing with my grandchildren!

I am a lifelong outdoorsman, having hunted, fished, hiked and photographed since a young age.  In 1997 I was the third teacher recruited into the then Outdoor Trails program originating at Lewisville ISD. I currently do most of the TPWD Angler Education certification training for the OA program. My wife Donna and I have been married 56 years, and have a son and two grandchildren. Since my retirement in 2007, I have become a Texas Master Naturalist.  I am a volunteer trail guide at the Heard Refuge and the Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area.  I am also a tram tour driver/guide at the Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge.

I have been teaching Physical Education for 14 years and Outdoor Education for 4 at Jacobs High School in Algonquin, Illinois. I am married(10 years) with 2 kids, 4 chickens and 2 golden dogs. I am currently coaching cross country.  I have a passion for the outdoors and will take every opportunity I can to get outside and find the best connection available (nature).

Jo has taught physical education for 25 years, in the UK, Hong Kong, and in the US at D. C. Everest Senior High School, WI, since 2004. She has written both Adventure Education and Outdoor and Adventure curriculums, and has written numerous grants to bring camping, rock climbing, and stand up paddle boarding into her programs. Jo is a National Board Certified Teacher, a 2021 Herb Kohl Fellow, and she was the 2013 Midwest High School Physical Education Teacher of the Year. Jo has served as President of Wisconsin Health and Physical Education (WHPE) and currently serves on the SHAPE America Board of Directors. Jo loves to be outdoors hiking, geocaching, stand up paddle boarding, running, or engaging in winter sports.

I am in my 20th year teaching at Azle High School having coached the first 17 of those years. My love of the outdoors led me to start the Outdoor Adventures class at Azle High School, which I have now had the privilege to teach for 6 years. I am a curriculum writer for the Outdoors Tomorrow Foundation, recipient of the Outdoor Adventures Educator of the Year Award, and currently, I am working toward being a National Board-Certified Teacher.  I love sharing my passion for the outdoors and the activities I love such as backpacking, wildlife photography, kayak fishing, fly fishing, rock climbing, skiing, adventure racing, ultra-running, and camping.  I also enjoy coaching our archery team as well as working with the Christian Outdoors Ministry to take students on hunts and fishing trips.  I love teaching, and I am always excited for my next adventure!

  I have taught PE for 39 years at middle school & upper elementary.  Outdoor Adventure education was a big part of the curriculum with archery, fishing, biking and orienteering being among the favorites.  We incorporated many other components during field trips and after-school outdoor clubs.  Outdoor Adventures is a great way to make meaningful connections with students and fuel their passion for the outdoors.  I enjoy a wide variety of outdoor pursuits including mountain biking, hiking, and paddle boarding in the summer, as well as skiing, snowmobiling and snow shoeing in the winter.  I live and recreate in Montana – one of the greatest playgrounds in the nation.
